16 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari & Beach Tour

This 16 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari & Beach Tour takes you to the Wilderness destinations of Kenya where you will see Africa’s Big 5. You will visit most of the prime selling Kenya safari destinations from the Northern region through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara game reserve in the Southern region where the largest concentration of wildlife in Kenya is found and end your 16 days Kenya Wildlife Safari with a relaxation at the beach.

Samburu National Reserve

Located in Northern region of Kenya on the banks of Ewaso Ng’iro River which is also the main water distributor in this region. The reserve was established in 1985 and covers an area of 165sqkm. The park is home to various mammal species including Lions, Leopard, Cheetah, Gravy Zebra, wild dogs, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, grant gazelles, impalas, water bucks, hippos, dik-diks, warthogs, cape Bufaloes, elephants, elands, jackals, fox, hyena, aardvark klipspringer, mongooses and Bats. The reserve is also home to about 450 bird species including golden breasted starling, white-headed moosebird, Sulphur breasted bush shrike, blue-necked Somali ostrich, Kori bustard, martial eagle, secretary bird, Egyptian vulture, vulturine guinea fowl, yellow-billed hornbill, golden pipit, palm nut vulture, chestnut weaver, lanner falcon among others.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Also known as a “Beautiful bird Haven” is located in the West Central Kenya and it is one of the saline lakes of the lake system lying within the Great rift valley of Eastern Africa. The park boosts of over 400 bird species including vast numbers of pink flamingoes, Abyssinian thrush, large flocks of pelicans, Bateleur, Arrow-marked babbler, and also mammals like waterbucks, impalas, warthogs,  elands, lions, leopards, hippopotamus, giraffes, black and white rhinos, African wild dog, vervet monkeys, olive baboon, colobus monkeys and many more.

Lake Naivasha

Also known as “Sheer Adventure” is located in the South Western region of Kenya along the Great Rift Valley floor. The park was established in 1995 and it covers an area of 140sqkm. The park is blessed with over 100 mammal species including giraffes, waterbucks,  zebras, hippos, buffaloes and over 350 species of birds including  flamingos, weaver birds, gonolek, African fish eagles, Palearctic duck, oxyura, red-knobbed coot, little greb, African spoonbill, marabou stork, kingfishers, herons, porzana pullisa among others.

Maasai Mara National Reserve

Located in the South Western region of Kenya along the Great Rift Valley area in Norok County Kenya adjacent to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Maasai Mara National Reserve was established in 1961 as a wildlife sanctuary covering an area of 520 sqkm of the current Mara Triangle.  Later it was converted into a Game Reserve and by 1984 the park had a total area of 1510sqkm. The park is dotted with acacia trees, shrubs and bushes and has 2 draining rivers which are Maasai Mara River and Talek River. A unique wildlife conservation haven famous for its Natural diversity of wildlife like the Big 5 mammals which are Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes and Rhinos in large numbers as well as other mammals like Cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, duikers, impala hartebeests, roan antelopes, topi, wildebeest and Thomson’s gazelles.

Also boosts of over 500 bird species like Bateleur, Secretary bird, Schawlow’s turaco, Abdim’s stork, Hammerkops, Temminck’s courser, Southern ground hornbill, Usambiro barbet, Saddle-billed stork, Giant kingfisher, Woolly-necked stork, Black-headed heron, Giant kingfisher, African jacana, Crowned lapwing, Malachite kingfisher, Grey-headed kingfisher among others. . Maasai Mara National Reserve is also famous for its annual Wildebeest Beast Migration where Millions of these creatures migrate from Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park which occurs between July and October making it one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

Amboseli National Park

Located in the Southern region of Kenya in Loitoktok district. The park got its name from a local word in Maasai language meaning “Salty dusty place.”It covers an area of 392sqkm and it is heavenly endowed with large herds of elephants making it the best place in Africa to get up-close to free ranging elephants. The park boosts of various species of mammals like Lions, elephants, Wildebeest, Leopards, Zebra, Hippo, Giraffe, hyenas, cheetahs, wild dogs, hartebeests, dik-dik, kudus, jackals, bat-eared foxes, fringe-eared Oryx, long-necked gerenuks, serval, warthogs and yellow baboon. Also has various bird species of about 400 species including pelicans, crakes, kingfishers, lily-trotters, egrets, hammerkops, rare Madagascar squaco, among others.

Tsavo West National Park

Llso known as the “land of Larva, springs, Man Eaters and Magical Sunsets” is located in the Southeastern part of Nairobi along Nairobi-Mombasa highway. The park covers an area of 9,065sqkm making it the second largest National park in Kenya established in 1948. The park is home to large herds of Africa’s Big Game like lions, black and white rhinos, Leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Wild dogs, Buffalo, Giraffe, Mongoose, Zebra, Crocodile, Hyrax, Lesser Kudu, Dik- dik, and Nocturnal Porcupine making it home to the Big 5 Mammal species. It also boosts of over 400 bird species including river warbler, red-backed shrike, Easter black-headed oriole, marsh warbler,  African fin-foot, starlins, corncrake, golden pipit, pangani long claw, Basra reed warbler, Shelley’s sterling, pied kingfisher, golden palm weaver, Somali ostrich, taita fiscal, taita falcon, Narina trogon, martial eagle, lesser kestrel among other bird species.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport – Transfer to your Hotel

The 16 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari & Beach Tour will begin with a pick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our Professional driver guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations who will meet and greet you, he will then brief you about the entire journey and thereafter transfer you to your Hotel where you will have rest and relaxation from your long flight. Your lunch and dinner will later be served.

Day 2: Drive to Samburu National Reserve – Evening Game Drive

Your day 2 of the 16 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari & Beach Tour will begin with an early morning delicious breakfast and thereafter embark on about 7 hours drive to Samburu National reserve located in the Northern region of Kenya. With a bit of luck, you will enjoy an early morning sunrise over Mount Kenya as you drive through the lush farmlands to Samburu National Reserve. Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation for lunch and relaxation. Later you will have an evening game drive which will enable you view mammal species like grant gazelles, impalas, water bucks, warthogs, cape Bufaloes, elephants, elands, jackals, fox, hyenas among others and then return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve – Full day Game Drive 

Day 3 of your Kenya Wildlife Safari will begin with an early morning breakfast and thereafter you will head out to the park for an exciting encounter with Samburu’s wildlife offerings. You will catch sights of different wildlife species like grant gazelles, impalas, water bucks, hippos, dik-diks, warthogs, cape Bufaloes, elephants, elands, jackals, lions, leopards, cheetahs. Your guide will also be on the watch out for the rare and endangered species of Samburu National Reserve like Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich, Gravy Zebra and wild dogs.

You will then return back for a delicious lunch at your lodge. Spend your entire afternoon relaxing as you await a unique evening game drive which will enable you spot some of the cats you failed to see during your morning game drive, you will as well continue to the Ewaso Nyiro river where you will see hippos and crocodiles . Back for your dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will start your day 4 with a delicious morning breakfast and thereafter you will check out of your accommodation and go for a morning game drive as you exit Samburu National Reserve to proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park. This drive will take about 7 hours including a lunch stopover. You will drive to your accommodation while enjoying sights of various mammal species like elephants, waterbucks, impalas, warthogs, elands, giraffes, buffalos among others. Later you will have your dinner and an overnight.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Full day Game Drive

Your day 5 of your Safari will have an early morning breakfast and a full day to explore Lake Nakuru National Park through several game drives. You will have a sunrise game drive since the park seems so beautiful at this time of the day and most animals are usually active. You will search for wildlife like waterbucks, impalas, warthogs, elands, hippopotamus, giraffes, African wild dogs and if lucky you will as well spot lions and leopards.

Return to your lodge for a hearty lunch and then Later in the afternoon, you will have a game drive around Lake Nakuru to watch the eye-catching flocks of the Greater and the lesser flamingos which color the shores of Lake Nakuru pink, you will take various memorable pictures and then later proceed to the Rhino sanctuary which is a home to about 100 white rhinos and 50 black rhinos. Finally return back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Naivasha National Park – Boat Ride to Crescent Island

You will have a delicious breakfast and thereafter drive to Lake Naivasha which is about 2 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for a hearty lunch and then later embark on a rejuvenating boat ride on this Great Rift Valley fresh water lake amidst various hippos to the crescent island. You will have various wildlife to view while at Crescent Island including zebras, giraffes, elands, wildebeest, impalas, water bucks among others. Late you will return back to your accommodation for your dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve – Evening Game drive

Your day 7 of the Kenyan Wildlife Safari will begin with a hot delicious breakfast and thereafter check out of your lodge and transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve which is about 4 hours drive from Lake Naivasha. Upon reaching, you will check into your accommodation for a finger licking lunch and later, you will go on a relaxed scenic drive until sunset in the rosy grassy hills in search for African wildlife like Elephants, Buffaloes, giraffes, duikers, impala hartebeests, roan antelopes, topi, wildebeest and Thomson’s gazelles. Later you will return for your dinner and an overnight.

Day 8: Maasai Mara National Reserve – Full day Game Drive

After your delicious breakfast, you will embark on a full day game drive with your packed lunch  which will give you an encounter with mammal species like zebras, wildebeests, hippos, giraffes, duikers, impala hartebeests, roan antelopes, topi, wildebeest and Thomson’s gazelles, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants and if lucky you will as well spot leopards, lions, hyenas. Later in the evening hours, return back to your lodge with an amazing evening game drive with an armed park ranger as well as spotlight torches to help you easily spot the nocturnals in the night as they hunt and feed on their prey for example the lions, leopards, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs among others. Then return back for your dinner and an overnight.

Day 9: Maasai Mara National Park – Morning Maasai Community Encounter – Afternoon Nature walk

Upon waking up on your day 9 of the Safari Tour, you will delight on your delicious breakfast and then head out to the Maasai Community living near the park for a rich encounter which will give you the definition of a true African Culture, you will enjoy their local dances and history and later spend your entire afternoon relaxing at your lodge as you await your lunch. Later, you will go for a 2 hour Nature walk with a local Maasai guide who will share his experience and expertise with you. He will teach you about the hidden secrets of the African savannah and how the Maasai people track wildlife and birds and also how they find medicine in the bush. You will later return to your lodge for a relaxed dinner and an overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Amboseli National Park – Relaxation at your lodge

After a delicious breakfast on day 10 of the safari, you will thereafter check out of your lodge and then embark on about 9 hours drive to Kenya’s Amboseli National Park located in the Southern region of Kenya. Upon reaching, you will check into your accommodation for rest and relaxation from your long drive as you await your dinner as well as an overnight.

Day 11: Amboseli National Park – Morning Game drive – Night Game drive

After delighting on your delicious breakfast, you will start day 11 of your 16 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari & Beach Tour with an early morning game drive. You will drive through the dry savannah plains in search for wildlife species like elephants, Wildebeest, Leopards, Zebra, Hippo, Giraffe, warthogs, hyenas, cheetahs, wild dogs, hartebeests, dik-dik, kudus, jackals, bat-eared foxes, fringe-eared Oryx, long-necked gerenuks among other mammals while enjoying the stunning views of Africa’s highest snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro in the backdrop in case the weather plays along. You will then return to your lodge for a hearty lunch and relaxation.

Later in the evening, you will embark on a night game drive which will start at sunset while giving you a perfect glimpse of the Sunset at Amboseli National Park. You will go on the drive with an armed park ranger and spotlight torches to help you spot nocturnals while hunting and feeding on their prey, like Lions, bat-eared foxes, serval, hyenas, cheetahs, Leopards and also Hippos while feeding on short grass. You will then return back to your lodge for a relaxed dinner and an overnight.

Day 12: Transfer to Tsavo West National Park – Evening Game Drive

Upon waking up on day 12 of your Kenyan Safari, you will have a lovely breakfast and thereafter check out of your accommodation and head out for your last encounter with the mammals as you exit Amboseli National Park. As you drive towards Tsavo West, you will make a brief stop at the Shetani lava flows for a picture moment and also visit Mzima springs which is home to various crocodiles and hippos. You will then continue to your lodge for check in and lunch.  Later you will go on an evening game drive where you will spot mammals like Buffaloes, Giraffes, Mongoose, Zebras, lions and leopards among others.  Return back later to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Tsavo West National Park – Morning Game Drive – Evening visit to Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary

Your day 13 will start with an early morning breakfast and thereafter you will head out in pursuit of various mammal species including Elephant, Cheetah, lions, Leopards, Wild dogs, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Mongoose, Zebras among others. You will return to your lodge for a delicious lunch and then later, you will visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary located just at the base of Ngulia hills. The sanctuary is a habitant to 80 black rhino individuals and while here, you can easily spot them in their natural state. You will later have your dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 14: Transfer to Diani Beach for Relaxation

Day 14 of your 16 Days Kenya Wildlife & Beach Tour will start with a succulent breakfast, you will then check out of your lodge and embark on about 6 hours scenic drive to Diani Beach which is located on the Indian Ocean Coast of Kenya. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for a tasteful lunch and then spend the rest of the day touring around the peaceful Natural Environment or opt to go swimming and sunbathing at the beach. Your dinner will later be served as you await a goodnight sleep.

Day 15: Full day Relaxation at Diani Beach

On this day of the Safari, you will enjoy your breakfast and have rest. Later in the day you will have the whole day to relax at Diani Beach and enjoy various activities like a boat cruise on a traditional sailboat, sunbathing, swimming, horse riding and several other activities which come at an extra cost including snorkeling, skydiving, jet skiing, stand up paddle boarding among others. You will have your lunch at any point you feel hungry and continue with the day’s activities.
